Role:
We are seeking an outstanding physician leader who is highly motivated and passionate about improving quality of care for vulnerable populations. Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer, you will lead company-wide initiatives to ensure clinical excellence, highest quality of care, and patient safety across the organization.
You will:
- Own the company-wide primary care (PCP) physician and advanced practice provider (APP) strategy in collaboration with operational teams. This includes developing and implementing workflows, tools, and AI solutions to enhance clinical delivery, achieve company clinical goals, and reduce provider burden.
- Design and deploy implementation of best practices for primary care physicians and advanced practice providers to support high quality care, outstanding participant experience, and a rewarding experience for our providers.
- Provide on-site support to medical directors, PCPs, and APPs across sites for deployment, oversight, and refinement of clinical workflows and process improvement efforts to enable excellent clinical outcomes.
- Provide clinical guidance for the design of clinical development programs and other learning for physicians, advanced practice providers, and other clinicians in partnership with our People team, discipline-specific leadership, and operational teams.
- Partner with multidisciplinary operational teams including practice operations, technology and platform, data, compliance, and population health to provide clinical partnership, guidance, and oversight of the design, implementation, and evaluation of new programs, processes, and tools.
- Serve as a role model for all clinicians in the company and represent our care ethos and goal with physicians in the market.
Additional Clinical Excellence Duties
- Develop and lead the peer review program for physicians and APPs in collaboration with our partners.
- In collaboration with People and operational teams, support peer review programs for other clinical disciplines as needed.
- Support onboarding and training programs for physicians and APPs.
- Develop and lead case conferences, clinical case reviews, and clinical standards committees across the medical staff.
- Support educational programming for physicians and advanced practitioners (APPs) as needed.
- Provide medical oversight for discipline-specific centers of excellence within the company, including evidence-based playbooks, skill and competency development, and quality of care measurement.
Clinical Guidance and Oversight
- Serve as clinical partner to clinical practice operations teams for improvements and enhancements of our clinical delivery model.
- In partnership with population health, support quality improvement and patient safety efforts across centers.
- Serve as the clinical subject matter expert for the creation and implementation of clinical program evaluation frameworks including process measures, clinical outcomes, and adverse events.
- Serve as clinical expert for multi-disciplinary strategic projects as needed.
- Ongoing medical review of policies and procedures as needed.
Clinical Leadership and Other Duties
- You will serve as a culture steward to our clinical teams. You will embody the ethos of service, equity, dignity, trust, and serve as a role model for clinicians across the company.
- You will ensure that our clinical programs are aligned with company values.
- Other duties as assigned.
- You may be asked to provide temporary clinical support for medical directors across our sites including temporary coverage.
- Travel up to 50% required.
Required Qualifications:
- MD or DO and completion of accredited residency and/or fellowship program.
- Minimum 7 years of clinical experience post training.
- Current board certification in internal medicine, family medicine, emergency medicine, or related field (geriatrics training preferred).
- Active, unrestricted CA medical license and DEA certificate.
- Willing and able to be licensed in other states.
- Experience operating in value-based care settings.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating/teaching/coaching/overseeing physicians or advanced practice providers or similar clinical leadership role.
- Demonstrated track record working with multidisciplinary teams across operations, product, technology, data, or population health to improve clinical operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the business of healthcare.
- Experience with deployment and enablement of AI tools in primary care.
- Experience in ambulatory clinical operations.
- Experience in geriatrics preferred.
Compensation:
We take into account an individuals qualifications, skillset, and experience in determining final salary. This role is eligible for medical/dental/vision insurance, paid parental leave (birthing and non-birthing parents), short and long-term disability, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) savings, paid time off, and company-paid holidays. The expected salary range for this position is $255,000 - $290,000.
The actual offer will be at the companys sole discretion and determined by relevant business considerations, including the final candidates qualifications, years of experience, skillset, and geographic location.
