Position Summary
Atlantic Health is seeking an accomplished and visionary Vice President, Chief Revenue Cycle Officer (CRCO) to lead the full spectrum of revenue cycle operations across our growing network of hospitals, physician practices, ambulatory centers, and specialty services. This executive will serve as the strategic architect and operational leader responsible for ensuring that Atlantic Health's revenue cycle is efficient, patient centered, technologically advanced, and aligned with our mission of delivering exceptional and accessible care to the communities we serve.
The CRCO will oversee all front‑end, mid‑cycle, and back‑end revenue functions, including patient access, clinical documentation integrity, coding, billing, collections, denials management, revenue integrity, and payer relations. This leader will drive enterprise‑wide standardization, operational excellence, and financial performance while championing a seamless and compassionate patient financial experience.
As a key member of the senior leadership team, the CRCO will work closely with clinical, operational, and financial executives to support organizational growth, strengthen reimbursement, and ensure Atlantic Health remains a high‑performing and financially resilient healthcare organization. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in hospital and physician revenue cycle operations, a strong record of leading large and complex teams, and the ability to navigate a dynamic regulatory and payer environment.

Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Revenue Cycle Leadership
- Provide executive oversight for all revenue cycle functions across Atlantic Health's hospitals, physician practices, ambulatory sites, and service lines.
- Develop and execute a unified revenue cycle strategy aligned with Atlantic Health's mission, financial goals, and growth priorities.
- Lead a large, multi-site team with a focus on performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Patient Access & Front-End Operations
- Oversee scheduling, registration, insurance verification, financial clearance, and point-of-service collections.
- Implement processes that improve patient access, reduce wait times, and enhance the overall patient financial experience.
- Ensure accuracy of demographic and insurance data to support clean claims and reduce downstream denials.
Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) & Coding
- Lead CDI and coding teams to ensure accurate, compliant, and complete documentation.
- Partner with clinical leadership to improve documentation quality and physician engagement.
- Ensure coding accuracy to optimize reimbursement and reduce audit risk.
Billing, Collections & Denials Management
- Oversee all billing, follow-up, cash posting, and collections activities for hospital and professional services.
- Implement best-practice workflows to reduce denials, accelerate cash flow, and improve net revenue.
- Develop and monitor KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics across the revenue cycle.
Revenue Integrity & Charge Capture
- Ensure accurate charge capture, compliant billing practices, and alignment between clinical operations and financial processes.
- Partner with service line leaders to optimize charging structures and identify revenue leakage.
- Lead internal audits and collaborate with compliance to mitigate risk.
Payer Relations & Reimbursement Optimization
- Collaborate with contracting and managed care teams to support payer negotiations and reimbursement strategies.
- Resolve systemic payer issues, improve claims adjudication, and strengthen payer partnerships.
- Monitor regulatory and reimbursement changes affecting Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers.
Technology, Automation & Digital Transformation
- Partner with IT and digital innovation teams to optimize Epic or other EHR/RCM platforms.
- Drive automation, AI-enabled workflows, and digital tools to improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
- Lead initiatives to modernize the revenue cycle and enhance transparency.
Patient Financial Experience
- Champion a compassionate, patient-centered approach to financial communication and billing.
- Oversee financial counseling, price transparency, and patient payment solutions.
- Ensure compliance with the No Surprises Act and other patient-focused regulations.
Vendor Management
- Manage vendor/s to ensure cost effective services, performance expectations, and regulatory compliance.
Performance Monitoring Optimization
- Trace key KPIs, SLA, and PLAs indicators to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with the CFO, CHSO, CMO, CNE, CIO, network team, and physician enterprise leadership to align revenue cycle operations with clinical and operational priorities.
- Support organizational growth initiatives, new service lines, and ambulatory expansion.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on revenue cycle performance and strategy.
Salary Range: $511,524-$708,513 base salary only; excludes leadership incentive.

Required Qualifications
10+ years of progressive revenue cycle leadership experience in a large healthcare organization, IDN, or academic medical center.
- Deep expertise in hospital and physician revenue cycle operations, reimbursement, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven success leading large, complex teams across multiple sites.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing large budgets and improving net revenue performance.
- Demonstrated ability to drive operational transformation and implement best-practice workflows.
- Experience with Epic or other enterprise EHR/RCM platforms.
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and change-management skills.
Preferred Experience
- Leadership experience in a multi-hospital organization similar in scale to Atlantic Health.
- Experience with value-based care, risk-based reimbursement, and population health models.
- Background in patient experience, digital transformation, or consumer-focused financial engagement.
- Familiarity with the New Jersey payer landscape and regulatory environment.
