The Vice President of Purchasing is responsible for the daily management of the HMH Network Purchasing Program. 

 

 

Responsibilities:

A day in the life of a Vice President of Purchasing at Hackensack Meridian Health includes:

  • Will lead a team across the network to implement PeopleSoft and GHX to all Legacy Meridian sites as PeopleSoft is rolled out in preparation for Epic. Training and follow up to new users to ensure a thorough understanding of the new system is essential to all future ordering and maintenance of supplies. Training on the specific tools for GHX will also be a part of this responsibility.
  • Administers the HMH centralized purchasing program and assures order processing is accomplished within 24 to 48 hours after requisitions are generated.
  • Management of the Purchasing task related to the HMH inventory.
  • Conducts market research and coordinates product and equipment evaluations including the preparation of financial analysis.
  • Prepares Request for Proposal, bid summaries including HMH Group Purchasing Options, and vendor performance analysis to provide a basis for contract decisions. Assist in the negotiating process.
  • Coordinates the purchase of capital goods within HMH guidelines.
  • Coordination of stat order requirements.
  • Coordinates the resolution of receipt and invoice variances within the established timelines.
Qualifications:

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a Purchasing Department preferably in the Health Care environment with 5 years supervisory/management experience.
