Position Type: Full-Time

GQ Animal Clinic is a premier, small-animal oriented veterinary practice group dedicated to providing top-tier, compassionate healthcare through an efficient, human-centric experience. Our modern, recently renovated facilities feature state-of-the-art medical equipment, digital workflows, and an exceptionally strong clinical support team structured to ensure a smooth, collaborative pace on the floor.

We are seeking a driven, highly skilled Veterinary Technician to become a core, long-term cornerstone of our medical team. This position is designed for a dedicated professional looking to establish stable professional roots, expand their advanced clinical capabilities, and grow into leadership tracks as our practice footprint continues to expand.

The Opportunity & Support Culture

At GQ Animal Clinic, our technicians are highly valued, essential partners in care, not just assistants. You will work alongside a cohesive team of passionate professionals who embrace true collaboration. This environment offers an excellent platform to advance your skills in high-acuity nursing, complex soft-tissue surgery support, and comprehensive dentistry.

Because we serve a vibrant, diverse, and upscale South Florida demographic across our locations, the ability to communicate with high proficiency and confidence in both English and Spanish is vital. Your linguistic skills ensure clear alignment between our medical recommendations and our deeply loyal client base, enhancing compliance and elevating patient outcomes.

Essential Functions

Surgical & Anesthesia Nursing

  • Advanced Monitoring: Induct patients, place intravenous catheters, calculate precise medication dosages, and safely monitor anesthesia during complex surgical procedures.

  • Surgical Assist: Maintain sterile techniques, prepare surgical suites, and provide hands-on assistance to the veterinarian during soft-tissue and orthopedic operations.

  • Patient Recovery: Manage intensive post-operative nursing care and patient recovery protocols.

Clinical Diagnostics & Therapeutics

  • Phlebotomy & Lab Workflow: Perform efficient blood draws, administer medications, and run comprehensive in-house laboratory diagnostics (CBC/CHEM).

  • Radiology & Dentistry: Execute precise digital dental and standard radiographs using modern imaging software while maintaining strict safety measures.

  • Proactive Triage: Conduct comprehensive patient history intake, perform initial physical assessments, and utilize low-stress restraint techniques to ensure patient and team safety.

Client Education & Value Delivery

  • The Clinical Bridge: Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners, translating complex medical diagnoses into actionable home-care instructions.

  • Care Compliance: Actively educate clients on preventative products, wellness choices, and necessary veterinary services, supporting the clinic's commitment to proactive health benefits.

Position Requirements

  • Experience: 1.5+ years of proven experience as a Veterinary Technician or advanced assistant within a fast-paced companion animal hospital.

  • Language: High verbal, reading, and writing fluency in both English and Spanish is required to support our diverse clientele effectively.

  • Technical Excellence: Strong proficiency in veterinary medical math, intravenous catheterization, phlebotomy, and anesthesia monitoring.

  • Professional Drive: A self-motivated team member who takes proactive initiative, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, and thrives while managing multiple patient priorities.

  • Resilience: Proven ability to maintain a positive, solution-oriented demeanor during high-volume periods or urgent care scenarios.

  • Tenure Mindset: Looking for an individual motivated by long-term professional stability, dedicated to building multi-year relationships with our team and community.

  • Clinical Comfort: Fully comfortable navigating typical veterinary clinical environments, including exposure to blood and bodily fluids.

  • Education: Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
