Schedule: Monday-Friday day shifts only - shifts vary; Rotating Saturdays

Spartanburg Animal Clinic is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join our compassionate, client-focused team in Spartanburg, South Carolina. What Our Veterinary Technicians Do

  • Assist veterinarians with patient examinations, treatments, and medical procedures
  • Obtain patient histories and prepare exam rooms for appointments
  • Collect blood samples and place intravenous catheters
  • Perform laboratory and diagnostic testing
  • Prepare, read, and interpret ear, urine, and skin cytologies
  • Monitor anesthesia and assist throughout surgical procedures
  • Provide attentive patient care before, during, and after surgery
  • Take diagnostic radiographs, including dental radiographs when applicable
  • Use appropriate restraint and low-stress handling techniques for dogs and cats
  • Educate clients about vaccinations, parasite prevention, nutrition, preventive care, and common diseases
  • Maintain accurate medical records and support clear client communication
  • Perform pharmacy duties and help maintain organized treatment and work areas
  • Support hospital operations with a proactive, team-first approach

What Our Veterinary Technicians Bring

  • At least three years of clinical experience as a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant
  • Strong skills in venipuncture, IV catheter placement, laboratory procedures, and anesthesia monitoring
  • Experience assisting with surgery and providing perioperative patient care
  • Knowledge of safe animal handling and restraint techniques
  • Experience evaluating cytology samples and performing dental radiography
  • Excellent communication and client education abilities
  • A friendly, dependable, and team-focused attitude
  • The confidence to take initiative and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • A commitment to high standards of patient care and hospital safety
  • An LVT credential is a plus but not required
  • The ability to work independently while remaining an engaged member of the team
  • The ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and safely restrain patients of varying sizes
  • Comfort working around animal hair, dander, odors, noise, cleaning products, and potential infectious or zoonotic diseases
