Fetch Specialty and Emergency Veterinary Centers is a family-owned hospital dedicated to providing excellent care to pets in our community. We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our Oncology team in our Greenville hospital. As a Veterinary Technician in Oncology, you will play a crucial role in providing specialized care to pets undergoing treatment for cancer.

Responsibilities

  • Assist our oncologist in all aspects of patient care, including but not limited to handling, restraint, and medication administration
  • Obtain thorough patient history and vital signs
  • Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies needed for procedures
  • Monitor and document patient progress during treatment
  • Perform routine diagnostic procedures including blood work, cytology and radiology
  • Administer treatments, such as chemotherapy, under the guidance of veterinarians
  • Assist with procedures such as ultrasound, biopsy, CT(computed tomography) and other specialized treatments
  • Monitor patients during anesthetic procedures and recovery
  • Provide support to pet owners facing a cancer diagnosis through educational and compassionate interactions
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification as a veterinary technician preferred
  • Previous experience working in an oncology setting highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary procedures and techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle and restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team setting
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
