Position Overview


The Internal Medicine Veterinary Technician supports advanced patient care, diagnostics, anesthesia, specialty procedures, and client communication within our Internal Medicine department.


Responsibilities


  • Provide high-quality nursing care to Internal Medicine patients 
  • Monitor hospitalized patients and communicate changes promptly 
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately 
  • Assist with ultrasounds, endoscopy, feeding tubes, aspirates, transfusions, and anesthesia monitoring 
  • Collect and prepare laboratory samples 
  • Maintain accurate treatment sheets and medical records 
  • Educate clients regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions 
  • Collaborate with ER, ICU, Surgery, and specialty teams 
  • Support a positive, professional, and emotionally intelligent culture 
Preferred Qualifications


  • Veterinary Technician experience required 
  • Internal Medicine or specialty experience preferred 
  • ER/Critical Care experience is a plus 
  • CVT/LVT/RVT preferred but not required 
  • Strong technical skills including: 
     
    • Venipuncture 
    • IV catheter placement 
    • Patient monitoring 
    • Radiology assistance 
    • Laboratory sample handling 
    • Experience with ezyVet and/or VetRadar is a plus
