Join Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital (VESH) in West Springfield, MA. This is an exciting opportunity for a Veterinary Technician who enjoys fast-paced medicine, hands-on patient care, and being part of a team delivering exceptional emergency and critical care to pets when they need it most.
Whether you’re an experienced ICU Veterinary Technician or looking to continue building advanced technical skills in emergency medicine, VESH offers the caseload, mentorship, and support to help you thrive.
Compensation
$24–$31/hour based on experience, skills assessment, and credentialing
- Non-Credentialed Veterinary Technician: $24–$30/hr
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT/LVT/RVT): $26–$31/hr
- VTS compensation available based on experience
- Swings (4:00 PM–11:59 PM): +$2/hr
- Overnights (6:00 PM–6:00 AM): +$2.50/hr
Full-Time | 12-hour shifts
Available schedule options include:
- Overnights: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM (3x12s)
- Rotational schedule:
- Days: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
- Mid shift: 10:00 AM–10:00 PM
- Overnights: 7:00 PM–7:00 AM

As an ICU Veterinary Technician, you will:
- Provide nursing care and monitoring for critically ill and hospitalized patients
- Monitor anesthesia, sedation, and recovery patients
- Perform patient assessments including TPR, vitals, and ongoing monitoring
- Administer medications, fluids, and treatments as directed by DVMs
- Assist with emergency procedures and stabilization of incoming patients
- Place and maintain IV catheters
- Collect laboratory samples and run diagnostics
- Assist with advanced imaging and specialty procedures as needed
- Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
- Deliver compassionate communication and support to clients throughout patient care
- Collaborate closely with Emergency, Critical Care, and Specialty teams across the hospital
We’re looking for Veterinary Technicians who are:
- Experienced in emergency, ICU, or specialty veterinary medicine preferred
- CVT, LVT, or RVT strongly preferred; experienced non-credentialed technicians encouraged to apply
- Skilled in patient monitoring, nursing care, and technical procedures
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented hospital environment
- Positive, dependable, and compassionate with strong communication skills
- Eager to learn, collaborate, and continue developing technical skills
- Committed to excellent patient care and exceptional client service
- Fluent English speaking and reading skills required
We are a 24-hour, VECCS Level 2 Certified, state-of-the-art Emergency + Specialty veterinary hospital.
Like human medical specialists, VESH supports primary care veterinarians with the evaluation and treatment of pets affected by trauma, chronic issues, serious illness, or unusual disorders requiring advanced training, while also providing critical and emergency veterinary care.
We offer a variety of specialty services including Advanced Imaging (CT), Internal Medicine, Surgery, Medical Oncology, and Emergency and Critical Care.
