Friendship Hospital for Animals, a leading AAHA- accredited hospital located in Washington D.C. is seeking enthusiastic and experienced Credentialed Veterinary Technicians to join our Emergency and ICU teams! About the role:
- Provide exceptional, compassionate nursing care to critically ill and hospitalized patients in our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Progressive Care Unit (PCU), treating every patient as if they were your own.
- Work alongside a dedicated team of emergency veterinarians, technicians, and assistants to deliver life-saving care in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Build meaningful relationships with pet owners by offering empathy, support, and clear communication during some of their most difficult moments.
- Thrive in a dynamic setting where critical thinking, adaptability, and the ability to remain calm under pressure make a difference every day.
- Monitor patients closely, administer treatments, and recognize subtle changes in condition to ensure the highest standard of care.
- Utilize advanced technical skills, including IV catheter placement, phlebotomy, diagnostic sample collection, anesthesia monitoring, and intensive nursing care.
- Balance the needs of multiple patients while maintaining exceptional attention to detail, organization, and patient advocacy.

Schedule: This is a full-time position. Schedule is four 10 hour shifts per week with various shifts available. Some weekends and holidays are required.

Qualifications
- Credentialed veterinary technician (LVT, CVT, RVT) preferred but not required.
- 1-2 years experience working as a veterinary technician required.
- Recover certification a plus, but not required.
