Position Summary: Part time Veterinary Sciences position in the Agriculture Department at the Whitko Career Academy, in conjunction with Whitko Community Schools, provides a quality Career and Technical Education Program to students. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong foundational veterinary knowledge, proficiency in basic hospital and office procedures, and a commitment to student-centered, work-based learning.

  • High-quality instruction in Principles of Veterinary Science, Veterinary Science, Advanced Animal Life Science, and a Veterinary Science Capstone to high school students pursuing pathways in Agriculture or Health & Life Sciences.
  • Applicants should have industry recognized credentials and/or certifications that pertain to the position.
  • A college degree in an agriculture related field is preferred, but not required.
  • The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substances abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the corporation.

Instructional Leadership

  • The instructor will integrate industry-aligned competencies and hands-on experiences to prepare students for entry-level veterinary careers, postsecondary programs, and industry certifications.
  • Develops and administers curriculum consistent with school districts objective and state standards
  • Provide subject instruction on a higher level than grade-standard in an interactive learning environment to achieve exceptional results for all students
  • Tailoring specific topics to expand student knowledge and passion for Agriculture or Health & Life Sciences
  • .Manage the classroom with effective leadership.
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
  • Be positive and creative to encourage all students to participate and learn.
  • Invoke approved disciplinary procedures.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by director and other administrative staff as designated by the superintendent.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Agriculture, Veterinary Science 9-12 teaching license or
  • Workplace Specialist license in Agriculture
