What You’ll Do
As a Veterinary Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in both patient care and clinic operations. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing daily care such as feeding, grooming, and monitoring animal health
- Assisting veterinarians during exams, treatments, and procedures
- Safely restraining animals when needed
- Keeping the clinic clean, organized, and fully sanitized
- Administering medications under veterinary guidance
- Observing animal behavior and reporting any changes
- Supporting emergency care when necessary
- Communicating with pet owners about care, treatments, and wellness
- Scheduling appointments and maintaining accurate records
You’ll work with a variety of animals—some may be anxious or in pain—so confidence, patience, and compassion are essential.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 1 year of experience in veterinary or animal care (required)
- Veterinary Assistant certification (preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and stay organized in a fast-paced setting
- Comfortable handling and restraining animals
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- High school diploma or equivalent
