VCA PetMed Animal Hospital is growing and looking for a Veterinary Assistant Supervisor to join our leadership team!

Schedule

Full-time | Four 10-hour shifts per week with rotating Saturdays

Compensation

Compensation is based on experience, skill set, and leadership background.

As a Veterinary Assistant Supervisor, you will partner closely with our Medical Director and Hospital Manager to support daily hospital operations, mentor team members, and drive engagement and efficiency throughout the hospital. This role offers the opportunity to strengthen your leadership skills while making a meaningful impact on both the team and the hospital's continued growth.

What You'll Do

In addition to Veterinary Assistant responsibilities, you will:

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and coaching to support staff
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and development of team members
  • Conduct performance discussions and provide ongoing feedback
  • Create and manage staff schedules
  • Lead team meetings and facilitate effective communication
  • Implement and uphold hospital policies and procedures
  • Monitor daily workflow and staffing needs to support efficient operations
  • Ensure accurate handling and documentation of controlled substances
  • Partner with hospital leadership to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and team development
