Park Animal Hospital

Full-time

Compensation is negotiable based on experience and credentials, with an expected starting range of $22-$28/hour. The final pay will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 5-8 hours per day. No Weekends!

About You

As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll support patient care from intake through discharge. In this role, you'll assist with outpatient treatments, collect samples, run basic lab work, support procedures, and help create a smooth, compassionate experience for pets and their families.

You care deeply about patient outcomes, and we're committed to supporting your growth and success.

Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of veterinary assistant experience highly preferred
  • Must be comfortable with proper animal restraint, patient handling, and maintaining a clean, organized hospital environment
  • Experience giving injections and drawing blood preferred
  • Comfortable monitoring anesthesia and using standard patient monitoring equipment
  • Collaborative team player who is eager to learn and self-motivated
  • Enjoys a fast-paced environment and can adapt to changing priorities
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Able to multitask, stay organized, and prioritize effectively

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Assist with patient restraint, handling, and basic nursing care, including pre- and post-operative support
  • Support the veterinary team with treatments, procedures, medication preparation, and sample collection
  • Communicate clearly with clients about care instructions, treatment plans, and estimates
  • Maintain accurate medical records and enter charges and services in the practice management system
  • Help create a clean, efficient, and compassionate experience for patients, clients, and team members
