Veterinary Assistant

Inman Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team!

This is an excellent opportunity for an outgoing assistant with a foundational background in patient care who is looking to grow their career in veterinary medicine — and who thrives on building meaningful connections with clients and their pets.

In this role, you will:

• Provide exceptional patient and client care by ensuring an efficient exam room workflow.
• Assist with gentle animal handling and restraint during outpatient procedures such as physical exams, vaccines, and blood draws.
• Maintain accurate, detailed medical records and serve as a scribe during appointments.
• Review treatment plans and discharge instructions with clients, answering questions with empathy and clarity.
• Prepare and clean patient areas throughout the day, including exam rooms and treatment areas, anticipating team needs and ensuring preparedness and efficiency.
• Support the veterinarian's orders during outpatient care and procedures to ensure the highest level of patient care.

This position is ideal for efficient multi-taskers who enjoy a supportive role in a team-oriented environment and excel in client engagement while delivering exceptional care and communication.

Schedule: This is a full-time position with a Monday–Friday schedule with a dedicated half day off each week,1 hour lunch breaks, no on-call shifts or weekend hours and PAID holidays!

Full-time benefits and compensation**:

• Compensation: $16 - 18 per hour, for each hour worked*
• Bonus package: $500 for those with 3+ years of consecutive, current veterinary assistant experience

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• 1+ years of experience in a veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel assistant, or related role preferred
• Proficiency in the following skills is required:
  • Basic restraint and animal handling
  • Ability to get a basic medical history
  • Client communication and education
• We're open to training these skills:
  • Oral medication administration
  • Vitals, nail trims, anal gland expression
  • Medical record keeping
