Veterinary Assistant

Forest Valley Veterinary Clinic is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team! This is an excellent opportunity for outgoing assistants with a strong background in patient care and handling, who thrive on building meaningful connections with clients and their pets.

In this role, you will:

• Provide exceptional patient and client care by ensuring an efficient exam room workflow.
• Maintain accurate, detailed medical records.
• Review treatment plans and discharge instructions with clients, answering questions with empathy and clarity.
• Support the veterinarian’s orders during outpatient care and procedures to ensure the highest level of patient care.
• Assist with compassionate end-of-life aftercare services, including operation of on-site cremation equipment

This position is ideal for team members who excel in client engagement and schedule management while delivering exceptional care and communication.

Schedule:

This is a full-time position, with a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Tuesday through Friday and occasional coverage on Saturdays.

Full-time benefits and compensation**:

• Compensation: $18-22 per hour, for each hour worked*
• Bonus package: $500 for those with 3+ years of consecutive, current experience

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• 1+ years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting
• Proficiency in the following skills:
  • Gathering accurate medical histories, recording vitals, updating charts
  • Animal handling and restraint
  • Administering medications
  • Basic procedures such as nail trims and ear cleanings
  • Candidates should be comfortable participating in compassionate end-of-life and aftercare support, including operation of our on-site cremation equipment.
