Job Overview
An autonomous vehicle company is hiring a CDL A Driver Tester to operate and test semi-trucks and other vehicles with advanced driver-assistance and self-driving technology.
This role combines professional driving with testing and feedback for engineering teams.
What You’ll Do
- Safely operate semi-trucks, straight trucks, and passenger vehicles
- Test driver-assist and self-driving features (on-road and closed course)
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections (DVIRs)
- Provide detailed feedback on vehicle performance
- Assist with additional vehicle tasks when needed
Requirements
- Valid CDL A license and medical card
- 5+ years of Class A tractor-trailer experience
- Experience driving and backing 53’ trailers
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass DOT requirements (drug test, MVR, physical)
- Able to pass background check and road test
- Comfortable driving for long periods
- Willing to travel up to 50%
Driving Record Requirements
- No more than 2 minor violations in the past 3 years
- No serious violations in the past 5 years
- No DUI/DWI in the past 10 years
- No preventable accidents in the past 3 years
- No major DOT accidents in the past 10 years
