Job Responsibilities

  • Transport inmates to and from assigned work sites, conduct prescribed security checks on the vehicle and inmates, visually inspect inmates for contraband, and communicate effectively at all times.

  • Complete all required documentation, including the monthly trip log, SCDC form 14- 50, and SCDC form 20-12, ensuring each form is filled out entirely and returned to the control room at the end of the shift.

  • Ensure that the assigned vehicle is fueled, cleaned, and properly parked in its designated parking space after each shift.

  • Return all equipment and facility keys to the control room upon completing duty.

  • Participate in monthly reviews or meetings to evaluate procedures and recommend improvements to enhance future operations.

  • Perform additional related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Must possess a valid South Carolina drivers license. There are no minimum education requirements for this position.
