Job Title: Inventory Management Specialist (Contract)
Location: Sandy Springs, GA


Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Management Specialist (Contract) to support the end-to-end lifecycle management of vehicles across the United States. This role is responsible for coordinating transportation, repair, storage, and final disposition (auction, sale, donation, or disposal), while maintaining accurate inventory tracking and ensuring operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate will work closely with vendors, dealers, and internal stakeholders to ensure vehicles are processed efficiently, compliant with requirements, and returned to market when possible, all while minimizing cost and cycle time.


Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate movement, inspection, and repair of vehicles to reduce aging inventory and support timely disposition
  • Manage transportation logistics between customers, storage facilities, dealers, repair centers, auctions, and donation partners
  • Maintain accurate, real-time inventory data, including vehicle location, condition, repair status, and disposition path
  • Monitor repair needs and parts availability; coordinate with dealers to schedule and complete repairs
  • Ensure vehicles meet quality and compliance standards prior to resale or auction
  • Partner with third-party vendors to manage timelines, costs, and service levels
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams including Legal, Logistics, Accounting, Risk, and Operations
  • Track repair approvals, invoices, and supporting documentation related to vehicle movement and disposition
  • Identify aging inventory, bottlenecks, and process inefficiencies; recommend corrective actions
  • Ensure adherence to internal processes, documentation standards, and system updates
  • Support special projects and operational initiatives as needed

Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in:

  • Business Management
  • Supply Chain / Logistics
  • Operations Management
  • Finance or Accounting

Experience:

  • 3–5+ years of experience in one or more of the following:
    • Inventory management
    • Logistics or transportation coordination
    • Automotive operations or fleet management
    • Asset recovery or remarketing
    • Vendor or third-party management

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of inventory and vehicle lifecycle management
  • Proven ability to manage vendors and coordinate across multiple partners
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to analyze inventory data, aging, and costs to drive decisions
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with inventory, logistics, or case management systems
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
