Wire harness design engineer at AvrideJoin the hardware design team at Avride, a leading company building cutting‑edge hardware for self‑driving cars and autonomous delivery robots.About the TeamOur mission is to create reliable, intelligent systems that connect seamlessly with our autonomous platforms — ensuring safety, scalability, and innovation at every level.About the RoleThis is a hands‑on Electrical Design Engineer role in the Hardware Design team, responsible for the full cycle from electrical architecture and system design to integration, validation, and manufacturing support for next‑generation delivery robots.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain system‑level electrical documentation (Power, Network, and Connection Diagrams).Design and document 12V / 48V power distribution systems, including protection, grounding, and redundancy.Define and maintain interfaces between compute units, controllers, sensors, and actuators.Integrate and validate automotive and industrial communication networks—CAN, Ethernet (both BaseT and BaseT1), RS‑485, Modbus, IO‑Link, and discrete I/O.Select and qualify connectors, cables, and interface components (M8/M12, DT, D‑sub, etc.) to meet environmental and EMI requirements.Prepare and release production‑ready harness and interconnect documentation (pinouts, routing data, connection tables).Collaborate with Mechanical, Embedded, and Manufacturing teams to ensure design integrity and serviceability.Support prototype builds, troubleshooting, and system validation during testing.Provide manufacturing support, review production builds, and drive continuous design improvements.QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.3–6 years of experience in automotive, robotics, or industrial automation.Strong understanding of DC power distribution, grounding, and protection principles.Working knowledge of automotive and industrial communication protocols.Proficiency with EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar ECAD tools.Experience creating production‑ready documentation and collaborating with suppliers or contract manufacturers.Solid problem‑solving and diagnostic skills during integration and testing.Excellent teamwork and communication in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment.Preferred QualificationsFamiliarity with high‑speed Ethernet (10GBaseSR, 10GBaseT1) and network redundancy.Understanding of EMC, shielding, and grounding for mixed‑signal systems.Experience with solid‑state switching, relays, and e‑fuses for low‑voltage systems.Hands‑on experience in prototype builds, integration, or field validation.Seniority LevelMid‑Senior levelEmployment TypeFull‑timeJob FunctionConstruction, Software Development, and IT Services and IT ConsultingLocation: Austin, TXSalary: $80,000 – $160,000 per yearReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at Avride by 2x.Candidates are required to be authorized to work in the U.S. The employer is not offering relocation sponsorship, and remote work options are not available.#J-18808-Ljbffr
