    Description

    Position Summary: Disinfect and decontaminate vehicles, maintain vehicle cleanliness, track and report decontamination actives and inventories in inspection logs and other software. Maintain inventory logs, review vehicles for safety concerns to document and report. Responsible for ensuring that all critical tasks are fulfilled on a timely basis.

    Critical Tasks:

    • Provides safe and responsive vehicle disinfection and decontamination for vehicles as necessary for medical transportation purposes.
    • Transporting vehicles as necessary to service them while complying with all driving and traffic safety standards and laws.
    • Conduct vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
    • Use specialized decontamination equipment such as Steramist units or other tools as necessary for vehicle disinfection or decontamination.
    • Have a thorough knowledge of the processes for decontaminating vehicles after exposure to blood borne pathogens. Perform blood borne pathogen decontamination as required.
    • Notifies management concerning need for repairs to vehicles and equipment.
    • Inspects vehicles for cleanliness, operability and safety purposes, and makes all appropriate adjustments.
    • Clean and wash vehicle interiors and exteriors as requested.

    • Maintains detailed knowledge of surroundings for both work efficiency and personal/staff safety purposes.
    • Operates on a timely basis and according to assigned schedules without exception, while managing all work activities in a manner that creates high dependability.
    • Communicates consistently with the Transportation Manager, Safety Trainer, Road Supervisors and Dispatch in a pleasant and understanding way regarding vehicle conditions, decontamination equipment, and inventories.
    • Operates radio or similar device to communicate with base station or other vehicles to track and report vehicle status.
    • Provides all assistance reasonably necessary to drivers prior to and immediately following vehicle transportation.
    • To the greatest degree possible, develops knowledge of disinfection and decontamination processes.
    • Maintains accurate records, logs, notations and receipts of all activities for later review and follow-up actions.
    • Demonstrates ability to regularly change priorities to accomplish all tasks despite frequent interruptions.
    • Demonstrates ability to clearly communicate, both orally and in writing, while performing all essential functions.
    • Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or GED preferred
    • Prior medical environment work experience is preferred.
    • Defensive Driving certification preferred.
    • Valid Arizona driver's license with a safe driving record.
    • Demonstrates ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Gila River Community or other Native American cultures and community health services.
