This role helps redefine how our dealership builds inventory and stays ahead in a fast-moving automotive market.Vehicle Acquisition SpecialistPosition SummaryThe Vehicle Acquisition Specialist plays a key role in supporting dealership inventory goals by proactively sourcing and purchasing pre-owned vehicles. This position is primarily responsible for acquiring inventory through multiple channels, including the service drive, e-markets, auctions, word-of-mouth referrals, and independent market research. In addition, this role supports operational and administrative dealership functions as needed to ensure accurate vehicle tracking, compliance, and dealership efficiency.A strong focus on collaboration, professionalism, and customer experience is essential, as every team member contributes to delivering an exceptional guest experience-regardless of direct customer interaction.
Core Responsibilities
Actively source and purchase pre-owned vehicles through the service drive, digital marketplaces, auctions, referrals, and market researchBuild relationships and identify acquisition opportunities through internal dealership traffic and external networksMonitor market trends and vehicle availability to support inventory strategy and profitability goalsAssist in coordinating auction inventory, including weekly lineup preparation as neededMaintain accurate accounting of all vehicles on dealership propertyVerify incoming vehicle information by comparing VINs/serial numbers against invoices and barcodesAssign and track stock control numbers for inventory managementCatalog, organize, and maintain control of vehicle keysRun and interpret reports to identify vehicle locations and support inventory accuracyMaintain compliance with all dealership policies, procedures, and regulatory requirementsProtect confidential dealership, customer, and vendor information at all timesMaintain a clean, organized, and professional work environmentAdhere to dealership dress code and maintain a professional appearanceProvide support with clerical and administrative duties as assignedAssist other departments as needed to support overall dealership operations and guest experienceWork collaboratively with all dealership team members and maintain positive working relationships across departments
