Varsity Girls Head Basketball Coach

The School Distirct of Waupaca is looking for a Girls Varsity Head Basketball Coach. Coaching candidates will be expected to have advanced knowledge of the sport and clearly communicate with student athletes and coaches. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate the ability to coach and motivate the players to always improve. Teaching skills, techniques and team concepts will be valued alongside instilling character traits that will transform our student/athletes to become high character young adults. Candidates should be able to articulate their vision for the program along with the action steps they will take to achieve that vision.

POSITION SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Implement a program philosophy that supports organized and structured practice schedules,

in-season and off-season strength and conditioning programs, and consistent fundamental

development.

2. The ability to communicate regularly with all girls basketball athletes and athletic program

stakeholders.

3. Work collaboratively with the Waupaca School District Athletic Department in building

high-achieving athletic programs.

4. The ability to encourage and support student/athlete participation; developing student/athletes

as leaders both academically and athletically.

5. Possess and implement a coaching philosophy which values the role of athletics, winning and

losing, competition, as well as the commitment and value of the team, school, and

community excellence.

6. Pursue and lead program fundraising opportunities.

7. Knowledge of rules and strategies

8. Enthusiasm for the sport

9. Ability to motivate student/athletes.

10. Perform other duties as assigned by the Activities Director.
