TITLE HEAD BOYS SOCCER COACHGENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES Instruct and work with athletes to prepare for competition. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES Knowledge on the rules strategies and techniques of sport. Knowledge of related sports equipment and safety. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Minimum of 1 year of coaching experience as an Assistant Soccer Coach or Head Soccer Coach with successful experience in coaching soccer preferred.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES1. Coordinates the entireboys soccer program including junior varsity and &ldquoB&rdquo teams.2. Recommends purchase of equipment supplies and uniforms as appropriate.3. Plans and schedules a regular program of practice in season.4. Assists athletic director and other coaches in providing for off-season conditioning activities.5. Assists athletic director school administrators and teachers in enforcing school rules for student athletes including supervision of student athletes&rsquo academic programs.6. Supervises the cleaning storage and care of all appropriate equipment.7. Oversees the safety and physical conditions of the facility and physical condition offields team buses and locker rooms.8. Enforces disciplined and sportsmanlike behavior at all times and establishes andoversees penalties for breach of such standards by team members and coaches.9. Encourages maximum participation by students in sports coached by himher andother school sports and activities.10. Attends Virginia High School League clinics and workshops as required byprincipalAD.
