Position Description The Assistant Varsity Soccer Coach supports the Head Coach in developing a competitive, character-driven soccer program that promotes sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, leadership, and academic success. The coach serves as a positive role model and mentor, helping student-athletes reach their full potential both on and off the field while supporting the mission and values of the school. The soccer season will start August 13 and go into mid-November with playoff and championship games. Job Responsibilities · Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting daily practices and training sessions.· Teach and reinforce soccer fundamentals, advanced skills, tactics, and game strategy.· Support player development through individual instruction and constructive feedback.· Assist with game preparation, scouting, and match-day coaching responsibilities.· Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, team travel, and other team activities.· Foster a culture of respect, accountability, discipline, and sportsmanship.· Monitor athlete eligibility, academic progress, attendance, and conduct in collaboration with school administration.· Assist with equipment inventory, uniform distribution, and facility setup and maintenance.· Help coordinate offseason conditioning, summer programs, and player development opportunities.· Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, faculty, and the athletic department.· Support program fundraising, community service initiatives, and team events as needed.· Ensure compliance with school policies and league, conference, and state athletic association regulations.· Attend coaches' meetings, professional development opportunities, and athletic department functions. Key Qualifications · Previous soccer coaching and/or competitive playing experience preferred.· Knowledge of modern soccer tactics, player development, and conditioning principles.· Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.· Ability to motivate and mentor high school-aged male student-athletes.
