Value Stream Manager

Aquinas Consulting is currently looking to fill an on-site Value Stream Manager job with a key client in Torrington, CT. If you have five or more years of experience leading production operations in a high-volume manufacturing environment along with a strong background in Lean and continuous improvement methodologies, this DIRECT HIRE opportunity could be a great fit for you. In this role, you will take full ownership of a Value Stream production area, driving safety, quality, and performance while building a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement. You will partner across functional departments, develop annual operating plans, and serve as a change agent who gets results through people, process, and data.

Value Stream Manager Job Responsibilities:

• Manage all Value Stream activity including production scheduling, capacity planning, and machine priorities in collaboration with the supply chain team
• Lead and develop a motivated team by recruiting, training, coaching, and holding employees accountable to goals and performance expectations
• Drive continuous improvement programs focused on labor efficiency, on-time delivery, quality, safety, and cost reduction including Six Sigma and Kaizen initiatives
• Develop and implement an annual operating plan with the Senior Operations Manager, including capital planning, cost reduction projects, and elimination of non-value-added activity
• Provide detailed performance reporting on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis and manage root cause analysis and corrective actions using PDCA methodology

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred
• Five to eight years of experience improving team results in a semi-automated assembly or injection molding environment
• Experience managing multiple functional groups including operators, mechanics, and front line supervisors in a high-volume manufacturing setting
• Demonstrated success leading continuous improvement efforts using Lean and/or A3 methodologies
• Working knowledge of high-level ERP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Excel for trend tracking and performance measurement
