At NorthBay Health, the Clinical Nurse (RN) has the responsibility, accountability, and the authority to deliver safe, effective, quality, excellent nursing care according to the philosophy and goals/objectives of the Department of Nursing. The RN, utilizing Jean Watson's Theory of Caring Relationship Based Care, and NorthBay's professional nursing practice model assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for all patients assigned to his/her care. The RN makes determinations regarding the progress of the patient toward goals and utilizes a therapeutic professional relationship with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team to facilitate the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health. Care is provided according to the specific physiologic, developmental and psychosocial needs of the patient. Support the mission, vision, values and expectation of excellence of the organization. The VacaValley Critical Care Resource Registered Nurse is a critical care nurse that has specialized knowledge in critical care, rounding, rapid response, and critical care transport. horizontal leadership and is accountable for the management of care and the care environment. The VacaValley Critical Care Resource RN will collaborate with the Administrative Coordinator (AC), Clinical Nurse Supervisor (CNS) in the Emergency Department (ED) and Acute Care Unit (ACU) to provide critical care support throughout the institution. This role will be responsible for ensuring the care of the critical patient regardless of location within the institution.

Compensation Structure

NorthBay Health uses a structured compensation framework. Staff-level positions use a step-based system (Steps 1-5) based on years of directly related experience, with Step 5 representing 20 or more years of experience in the role. Manager level and above positions are paid a fixed annual base salary and are eligible for a variable incentive compensation plan. Physician compensation is structured based on specialty and role requirements.

Education:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursing.
  • BSN required by January 1, 2020, unless grandfathered as outlined in March 2014 letter.

Licensure and Certification:

  • Valid and current RN license by the State of California.
  • Current AHA or AHA equivalent BLS.

Experience:

  • A minimum of two year's of related clinical experience in critical care nursing required (ED or ICU).

Skills:

  • Demonstrated competence in area of clinical responsibility; proficient written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Possesses leadership ability and high professional standards.
  • Must be well organized, be able to set priorities, work independently, and an effective team member.
  • Must demonstrate and maintain current knowledge and skills in providing care for adult patients in appropriate age groups: young adult through geriatric.

Work Hours:

  • Total Hours: At least four (4) shifts each month, or more as determined by the department''s per diem availability standard and process
  • Shift: 12-hour shifts
  • 15% per diem differential included in salary range
  • Plus, Generous Shift Differentials
