As a UX Designer for Shopping Design, you will design solutions for difficult design and technical challenges that enable customers to make confident buying decisions across our growing and diverse product catalog. You"ll craft experiences that are simple, fluid, and beautiful while working within defined product strategies to deliver the right information at the right time.

Key job responsibilities

  • Design solutions for difficult design and technical problems where product strategy is not fully defined
  • Create conceptual sketches, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and prototypes
  • Collaborate effectively across diverse teams and disciplines to drive alignment and efficiency
  • Develop and improve design patterns, standards, and processes that scale for your team
  • Lead brainstorming sessions and present at cross-team reviews to demonstrate features and drive design decisions
  • Synthesize qualitative and quantitative data (metrics, usability studies) to inform product-level customer experience decisions
  • Work closely with engineering to incorporate capabilities and constraints of the technology stack
  • Balance short- and long-term design requirements against engineering constraints

A day in the life

As a UX Designer for Shopping Design, you will be a hands-on designer unafraid to take on the toughest challenges, scales their impact with proactive collaboration with other designers, and elevate the design quality of the entire team. You will develop strong relationships with fellow designers and partner closely with product, engineering, and business counterparts throughout the organization to launch bar-raising experiences for customers around the world. You have a passion for solving our customers" problems, always putting their needs first.

You"ll join the Shopping Design team at Amazon-a group of designers, technologists, program and product managers who design the global Amazon shopping experience for customers. We own the end-to-end shopping experience, and design the features that make it easy for customers to discover, evaluate, and transact on Amazon. We enable 300+ shopping designers outside of our organization and thousands of tech resources with design patterns, systems, tools, customer insights, and best practices to design a cohesive and delightful shopping CX. Our mission is to design magical shopping experiences that customers use daily and love.
