The Fresno County Department of Behavioral Health invites applications for the position of Utilization Review Specialist. Incumbents provide professional services including:

• Regulatory interpretation and guidance
• Review of health records, policies, and facilities to ensure proper utilization of treatment resources
• Consultation and training of providers across disciplines
• Coordination of care

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience: Two (2) years of full-time, paid, post-licensure work experience providing direct behavioral health care services as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Registered Nurse.
• Licenses: Valid State of California license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Registered Nurse.
• Drivers License: Possession of a valid Class "C" drivers license, or equivalent.

Notes:

• Recruitment and/or certification may be limited to candidates with experience and/or licensure related to the specific position vacancy as authorized by the Director of Human Resources.
• Must pass initial credentialing and re-credentialing requirements.
• Must remain compliant at all times with state licensing credentialing requirements while occupying this classification.
• All providers in this classification are required to have a valid National Provider Identifier (NPI) number prior to their first day of employment and maintain a valid NPI throughout the duration of their tenure in this classification.
• In addition, all providers in this classification must be registered with the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES) under the correct taxonomy.

SELECTION PROCESS Pursuant to Fresno County Personnel Rule 4 - Selection Process, applicants may be required to complete an examination process, and successful candidates will be placed on an employment list effective for a minimum of 3 months and certified in final rank order as vacancies occur. Interviews will be conducted approximately two weeks following candidate certification to the hiring department.

Please Note: The eligible list for this recruitment may be extended up to 12 months, and may be used to fill both extra-help and permanently allocated positions. Individuals selected for extra-help appointment may be transitioned to a permanently allocated position at a later date as authorized by the Fresno County Personnel Rules.
