General Job Description:

Job Title: Utility Worker - Entry Level 

Starting Wage: $15-$16 per hour 

 

Job Summary:
The Utility Worker assists in the repair and fabrication of components for electro-mechanical equipment using manual lathes, shapers, drill presses, grinders, and electroplating. This role requires applying knowledge of machining procedures, mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, and layout to support maintenance and manufacturing operations.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the repair of mechanical and electrical components and assemblies using hand tools.
  • Utilize measuring devices such as rulers, micrometers, and vernier calipers to ensure precision.
  • Perform a variety of tasks related to machining and component fabrication.
  • Exhibit a certain degree of creativity and latitude in completing assigned tasks.
  • Work under general supervision to complete required repairs and fabrications.
Specific Qualifications:

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 0 - 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Ability to meet certain certifications in a specialized area, if required.
  • Strong ability to read and follow verbal work instructions.
  • Proficiency in completing necessary documentation and records.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical components and machining processes.

This position is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and eager to develop their skills in an industrial setting.
