Utility Wastewater Maintenance Technician

$28.96/hour; 40 hours/week

• High school diploma or GED equivalent supplemented by formal training, special courses, or self-education that is equivalent to satisfactory completion of one year of college education or specialized advanced training in electrical maintenance or a closely related field, supplemented by four (4) years of experience in industrial, commercial and/or residential electrical maintenance.
• Must possess a South Carolina driver's license. Must possess or obtain within one year of hire a Class "A" Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

The Utility Wastewater Maintenance Technician performs skilled work in the inspection, maintenance and repair of electrical equipment, instrumentation, soft starts, variable frequency drives, mechanical components, SCADA, programmable logic controls (PLC) pumps, and motors for use in the City's wastewater treatment facility, sanitary sewer lift stations, related equipment and facilities, and performs other technical work as required. The Utility Wastewater Maintenance Technician works according to preventative maintenance SOPs and O&M but must be able to work independently to solve problems and complete assignments. Both technical and physical support will be available from Wastewater and Maintenance Department staff. Work is reviewed regularly by supervisor. This position reports to the Wastewater Superintendent.
