What Youll Be Doing

This position involves basic to advanced, skilled mechanical work in the maintenance and repair of all electrical, mechanical, and structural equipment relative to the operation of the Town's Water Filtration Facility and Water Pollution Control Facility and all associated facilities within the Town's Department of Utilities. Worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, extreme cold and heat, noise, vibration and working in hazardous conditions (such as confined space and high voltage environments) in all types of weather conditions.

Required Qualifications

Utility Plant Technician Trainee ($52,520-$110,130 DOQ): HS/GED; Minimum of (1) one year of experience in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, facility maintenance and/or repair work. Possession of a valid driver's license and safe driving record. Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B or ability to obtain within 1 year of employment. Knowledge in MS Suite applications and computer program applications appropriate to the position. Knowledge of OSHA and other workplace safety programs. Confined Space Certification, Fork Lift Certification and First Aid/CPR Certification or ability to obtain within one (1) year of hire.

OR

Utility Plant Technician ($53,530-$112,2484 DOQ): HS/GED; Minimum (2) two to (3) three years of experience in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, facility maintenance and/or repair work. Possession of a valid driver's license and safe driving record. Knowledge in MS Suite applications and computer program applications appropriate to the position. Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B or ability to obtain within 1 year of employment. Ability to obtain OSHA10 and within 1 year of employment. Confined Space Certification, Fork Lift Certification and First Aid/CPR Certification or ability to obtain within one (1) year of hire.

OR

Senior Utility Plant Technician ($56,207-$120,090 DOQ): HS/GED; Minimum 5 (five) years of responsible experience in mechanical, facility maintenance, electrical, HVAC and plumbing repair work or combination. Five (5) years of experience as an industrial electrician, experience reading line drawings and electrical diagrams. Knowledge in MS Suite applications and computer program applications, asset management appropriate to the position. Possession of a valid driver's license and safe driving record. Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B or ability to obtain within 1 year of employment. with appropriate endorsements. Ability to obtain OSHA 30 within (1) year of employment Confined Space Certification, First Aid/CPR Certification or the ability to obtain within one (1) year of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Utility Plant Technician Trainee: (3) Three plus years of specific Utility plant system maintenance, electrical, mechanical or HVAC experience. Bilingual. Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B.

OR

Utility Plant Technician: (4) Four years of experience maintaining a water treatment or wastewater treatment plant, industrial electrical, industrial mechanical or industrial HVAC experience. Experience construction plans, reading line drawings and/or electrical diagrams. Completion of an electrical, mechanical or other associated trade school. Bilingual in English/Spanish. Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B.

OR

Senior Utility Plant Technician: Associates Degree or completion of college courses. Seven (7) years' experience maintaining a water treatment or wastewater treatment plant. Supervisory experience in a similar environment. Knowledge of equipment maintenance procedures and tracking. Knowledge of pumps and motors. Completion of an electrical, mechanical, or other associated trade school. Advanced Computer skills. Bilingual. Possession of a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B.
