Description
We are Hiring!! The Underground Utilities Dept is looking to hire a Utility Maintenance Worker. Come be a part of a great team that provides a huge service to our community!
This position will be required to perform duties related to the maintenance and repair of the Citys water and sewer infrastructure. Sanitary & Storm cleaning. Repairs and replaces water mains, hydrants, storm and sanitary sewer lines. Drives and operates jet vac trucks, pickup trucks, heavy equipment, and other department related equipment.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Graduation from High School or GED.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in maintenance of equipment, knowledge of repair & installation of plumbing devices, etc.
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Class A CDL w/tanker and air brake endorsement within 6 months of hire. A commercial learners permit is required before starting this position.
Employee will be required to serve on a stand-by rotation and overtime may be required.
Underground Utilities operates from Sunday at 10:30 p.m. to Friday at 11:00 p.m., divided into three (3) shifts.
10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Our current opening is 3rd Shift Sunday - Thursday 10:30 am to 7:00 am position.

Regularly lifts and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration; frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles; occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme heat; extreme cold; and risk of electrical shock; noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Must be able obtain and maintain a Class A commercial driver's license with airbrake and tanker endorsement within six (6) months from the date of hire.
Graduation from High School or GED;
or
Any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
