Water Resources Department is seeking Utility Line Technicians to repair and maintain water and sanitary sewer and storm sewer lines. Successful candidates will perform routine and semiskilled work in a variety of construction, repair and maintenance assignments involving the use of various tools and equipment by performing the following duties. Normal starting pay for Utility Line Technician I is $20.00 per hour. Pay is negotiable based on qualifications and experience. Progression plan.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

This position requires you to be on standby for seven consecutive days, evenings and weekends every 5 weeks. Standby employees must be available within one hour from being called. Can you work this schedule?

This position requires you to work evenings and weekends for Water Resources emergencies and other City related emergencies, such as weather. Can you work this schedule?

This positions essential duties include repair and maintenance of water, sewer and stormwater lines working in ditches up to 18 feet deep. Can you safely perform this duty?

This position requires you to regularly climb a ladder with a 375 lb. weight rating. Can you perform this duty safely.

This position requires you to operate light and heavy equipment, list equipment that you have been trained to operate.

This position requires you to repair and maintain water lines in various weather conditions. What experience do you have working in inclement weather - extreme hot and cold weather.
