About the Role

The Utilities Service Person (USA) is an hourly position reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader. This role is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and reliability of plant utility systems, including water and wastewater systems, steam and boiler systems, compressed air, fuel systems, fire prevention systems, binder systems, and HVAC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Live and uphold the OC Safety Standards and meet all required safety expectations

  • Participate in safety, quality, TPM, and housekeeping programs (including Kaizen and safety committees)

  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and waste disposal procedures

  • Follow all plant rules, safety regulations, and JHA requirements

  • Install, operate, maintain, and modify utility systems and equipment

  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on utility systems

  • Troubleshoot utility systems using electrical and instrumentation knowledge and test equipment

  • Interpret engineering drawings, sketches, and technical instructions

  • Process plant waste through wastewater systems and maintain required operating conditions

  • Operate ladders, scaffolding, and other access equipment safely

  • Move equipment using powered or manual tools as required

  • Perform diagnostic testing and system checks

  • Provide relief coverage for qualified positions as needed

  • Perform cleanup of equipment areas and workstations

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the area leader

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Must be 18 years or older

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Associate degree, technical certificate, or equivalent preferred

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Must be drug and alcohol free

Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Ability to multitask and work independently or in a team environment

  • Strong customer service mindset (internal and external)

  • Basic mathematical ability

  • Ability to obtain and maintain required certifications and training

  • Ability to operate a computer and use SAP for data entry and reporting

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Ability to work rotating 12-hour day/night shifts

  • Ability to stand for extended periods

  • Ability to work overtime as needed

  • Ability to use hand dexterity for maintenance tasks
