Own the Uptime

Picture this: a conveyor motor trips during a peak run, steam pressure needs tuning, and a packaging sensor is intermittent. You prioritize, respond, and restore—all while communicating status and downtime expectations to Production and Maintenance Leadership. If this sounds like your kind of challenge, read on.

Your Mission

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production, facility, and utility equipment to keep a food manufacturing operation safe and efficient.
  • Respond immediately to line calls; diagnose faults; and provide clear repair updates and estimated downtime.
  • Execute preventive maintenance—lubrication, inspections, calibrations—per the Preventive Maintenance Program to maximize reliability.
  • Resolve issues across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and basic control systems.
  • Disassemble, repair, adjust, and reassemble machinery with a strong safety mindset.
  • Inspect parts and components to ensure they meet OEM specifications and manufacturer tolerances.
  • Support HVAC, boilers, steam lines, plumbing, electrical systems, and building infrastructure.
  • Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and new installations to minimize impact on production schedules.
  • Adhere to safety, quality, GMP, and regulatory expectations; maintain clean tools, equipment, and work areas.
  • Confirm that no tools or materials remain on lines before startup or restart after maintenance.
  • Complete accurate work orders, logs, and documentation using the EFCO work order ticketing system.
  • Record parts usage and alert Maintenance Leadership when materials need replenishment.
  • Engage in training and provide support to Maintenance and Production teams as priorities evolve.
  • Report unusual conditions, safety concerns, or any potential facility damage without delay.

What It Takes

  • Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and basic control systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair production and facility assets, including conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and packaging equipment.
  • Basic industrial electrical know-how: low-voltage (sensors, photo eyes, relays) and high-voltage (motors, panels, disconnects).
  • Experience with preventive maintenance and lubrication practices.
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems, boilers, steam distribution, and plant utilities.
  • Skill in safe tear-down, inspection, adjustment, and reassembly of equipment.
  • Basic welding, fabrication, and hand-tool capabilities.
  • Ability to read and follow work orders, safety instructions, and SOPs; clear communication with Maintenance and Production personnel.
  • Self-starter who follows escalation processes and can operate tools, test devices, diagnostic equipment, and forklifts when trained and certified.

Physical Requirements & Work Setting

  • Stand or walk throughout the shift; work in cold or freezer environments as needed.
  • Bend, crouch, kneel, reach, and stoop; frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Maintain the strength, stamina, and dexterity required for essential job functions.
