Job Title: Summer Eats Program Coordinator

Program: USDA Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) / Summer Eats

Dates of Employment: June 26, 2026 - August 21, 2026

Program Dates: July 1, 2026 - August 31, 2026

Schedule: 5 days per week, 6 hours per day

Compensation: $31.00 per hour

Position Summary

The Summer Eats Program Coordinator assists the Food & Nutrition Services Department in the administration and operation of the USDA Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). The Coordinator is responsible for supporting and overseeing all aspects of program implementation to ensure efficient operations, regulatory compliance, and successful meal service delivery throughout the summer program period.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate daily operations of the Summer Eats/SFSP program
  • Assist with outreach efforts to promote program participation within the community
  • Maintain positive relationships with community partners, sites, vendors, and stakeholders
  • Support record keeping, and administrative functions
  • Assist with procurement and inventory management of food and supplies
  • Provide supervision and support for summer program personnel
  • Conduct staff training and ensure adherence to food safety procedures
  • Monitor meal service sites to ensure compliance with USDA and state regulations
  • Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and required program records
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, allergy awareness, and program regulations
  • Travel between meal service sites as needed

Qualifications

  • ServSafe Certification required
  • Allergy Awareness Certification required
  • Valid Massachusetts driver's license required
  • Reliable transportation required for travel between program sites
  • Strong organizational, communication, and supervisory skills preferred
  • Experience in food service, nutrition programs, youth programs, or program coordination preferred
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to travel between multiple program locations
  • Ability to lift and transport supplies as needed
  • Ability to work in kitchen and meal service environments

Terms of Employment

This is a temporary summer position scheduled for 5 days per week, 6 hours per day, from June 26, 2017 through August 21, 2017, at a rate of $31.00 per hour.
