Organization Overview

US Squash is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization which serves as the only national governing body and membership organization for the sport in the United States. Founded in 1904 and headquartered in Philadelphia, it is a member of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee, the Pan American Squash Federation and the World Squash Federation. US Squash is the only sport national governing body located in Philadelphia. US Squash continually invests in the development of the sport to sustain growth, broaden access, and embrace innovation. US Squash is headquartered out of the Arlen Specter US Squash Center in Philadelphia, the world's largest public squash facility.

Job Overview

This new US Squash position is designed to identify and support the growth of new court construction, court renovations, and advise facility owners and operators on program development. This position will focus on proactive outreach to potential facility developers and owners and will provide advisory services to developers at varying stages of project development. In addition, this person will provide support on strategic business analysis and execution on specific strategic initiatives related to expansion of the sport.

Job Responsibilities

  • Gathering all relevant data on courts in the U.S. and creating clear metrics for growth.
  • Identify the most viable new squash court and renovation projects nationally, which includes focusing on assessing the viability of new court or renovation capital projects based on the strength of an on-the-ground project leader and the local squash constituency's enthusiasm for the project and its ability to provide financial support.
  • Work with Senior Leadership to identify and proactively reach out to high schools, public squash clubs, country clubs, multi-sport facilities, community rec centers to get them to consider adding squash.
  • Serve as a supporting "Project Manager" assisting in identifying the range of project needs, fundraising strategies, squash industry vendor options and helping set realistic timelines for the process.
  • Provide guidance in project communications and stakeholder management.
  • Help identify and engage additional local users of the courts - schools, universities.
  • Identify ways US Squash can support the project organizationally with programming and Team USA engagement.
  • Engage with SEA, NSL, PSA to create partnerships where appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with CSA Director of Expansion.

Location & Hours

The role is based at US Squash Headquarters at the Arlen Specter US Squash Center in Philadelphia, PA. Expectancy to work 40 hours per week within normal working hours (Mon - Fri, 9am to 5pm), as well as occasional evenings, weekends, and travel. Schedule to be determined with Chief of Sport Development.
