The Program Manager III leads complex, high-impact programs and initiatives from conception through implementation, driving cross-functional teams to achieve strategic objectives and deliverables. This role manages program scope, schedule, budget, and resources, ensuring programs are delivered on time, within budget, and to defined quality standards. The Program Manager III establishes effective governance and communication frameworks, oversees stakeholder engagement, and champions continuous improvement to enhance program effectiveness and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and oversight of large-scale programs and projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, objectives, and strategic priorities.
- Define program scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria, and develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets to achieve these outcomes.
- Establish and maintain governance structures, communication channels, and stakeholder engagement strategies that promote transparency, accountability, and alignment throughout the program lifecycle.
- Manage cross-functional project teams, including internal and external stakeholders, to execute project activities, resolve issues, and mitigate risks.
- Monitor program performance metrics, track progress against milestones, and prepare and deliver regular status reports, including risks and issues, to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
- Identify, assess, and manage program risks and issues, developing and implementing mitigation and contingency plans to protect program objectives.
- Lead change management initiatives associated with program delivery, facilitating decision-making processes and stakeholder buy-in for new processes, systems, or structures.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts across programs and projects, analyzing outcomes and lessons learned to enhance program management practices and operational efficiency.
- Facilitate effective communication among cross-functional teams to ensure clarity of roles, responsibilities, and expectations throughout each phase of the program.
- Mentor and coach junior program managers and project team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and professional development.
- Influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to align program decisions with business priorities and strategic direction.
- Ensure that all programs adhere to established project management methodologies, standards, and best practices, including documentation and compliance requirements.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor"s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- 6-9 years of experience in program management, project management, or a closely related role, with clear progression in responsibility and leadership.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex programs and projects from initiation to closure, consistently delivering on time, within budget, and to defined quality standards.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and motivate cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration and relationship-building with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, including the capacity to analyze complex issues, identify practical solutions, and drive timely resolution.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies, tools, and techniques, including PMBOK, Agile, and Waterfall.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing requirements and strategic directions.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain governance frameworks, performance metrics, and reporting mechanisms for programs and projects.

- Master"s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.

- Knowledge of program and portfolio management tools and software such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, and Smartsheet.

Pay and Benefits
