The Role
The National Tennis Center is seeking a seasonal Event Manager who will play a critical role in all facets of temporary structure implementation for the 2026 US Open. The individual will support the Manager, Event Operations and Director, Event Services on other critical operational tasks as instructed.
Major Duties include but are not limited to:
Structure Tasks
Act as a main point-of-contact for all structure and equipment vendors including:
- Modular structures
- Tenting
- Portable Restrooms
- Temporary Fencing
- Storage and office units
- Entrance trusses and decorative wall installations
- Equipment Rentals (Golf Carts, Generators, Light Towers, etc.)
- Fueling vendor
- Facilitate the overall schedule of delivery, installation and removal of all structures
- Assist in executing service agreements for related vendors
- Participate in site visits and align and on all logistics related to installation and removal
- Establish regular communication with vendors and internal business groups to ensure seamless installation/removal of all ancillary structures and equipment
- Develop relationships with service technicians and respond to maintenance issues timely
- Manage light tower operation, including turning on and off all towers each night
- Act as a main point of contact for fueling vendor
Supporting Tasks
- Provide support for beverage team related to loading/unloading product throughout US Open
- Oversee temporary barricade installations, including entrance queues and rideshare lanes
- Responsible for operating equipment on a daily basis, including forklift, power jacks, and ladders
- Assist Events, Loading Dock, Beverage and Graphics team during critical times as directed
Who You Are
- Forklift certification is REQUIRED
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs. routinely
- Comfortable using ladders, pallet jacks, electric jacks, and other warehouse equipment
- Experience developing and maintaining relationships with vendors
- Available to work the full duration of the US Open (mid-July through mid-September)
- Willing to work long hours, in various weather conditions (heat, rain, etc.)
- Previous experience in a fast-paced event environment preferred
- A self-starter who is solutions oriented
- Ability to work cross-functionally with different business groups (Events, Facilities, Broadcast, Tournament Operations, etc.)
- Strong proficiency in multitasking, successfully balancing multiple projects simultaneously
Reports to: Director, Event Services & Manager, Event Operations
Compensation:
- $27/hour pre & post event (June- August 22, September 14-October 2)
- $400/day during event (August 23-September 13)
