Job Description
  • US Tech Solutions is seeking a Loan Operations Representative I to join our Client’s US Residential Lending team on a 6-month contract assignment.
  • This is a 100% back-office role responsible for supporting loan servicing operations through administrative processing, payment application, and general ledger activities.
  • You will work within a collaborative team of 7 professionals in a hybrid environment (4 days on-site) with the opportunity to contribute to a leading financial institution’s loan operations.
  • This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, SLA-driven environment. You will interact with internal departments only and have minimal meeting obligations (2–3 hours per month), allowing you to focus on processing accuracy and operational excellence.
 
Responsibilities
  • Apply payments to loans accurately and in a timely manner
  • Review and evaluate loan applications for completeness and accuracy
  • Make approval or rejection decisions on routine administrative items within standard policies
  • Handle related administrative tasks and paperwork for loan servicing
  • Make entries in the general ledger related to processed paperwork and information
  • Approve and review general ledger entries and/or invoices for accuracy and completeness
  • Perform preliminary research on suspicious items and report findings to appropriate resources to help prevent fraudulent activities
  • Identify, audit, and investigate departmental discrepancies
  • Respond to basic and moderately complex inquiries from internal units and customers
  • Research information to provide responses and resolution to account-related issues
  • Contact customers to explain items affecting their accounts when necessary
  • Follow up with branches and other internal units to resolve discrepancies and customer issues
  • May review work of others to ensure accurate processing
  • Provide input and assistance to management in developing and maintaining departmental budgets as requested
 
Experience
  • 1–2 years of overall experience in a banking or financial services institution
  • Experience in loan processing and/or loan servicing is strongly preferred
  • 0–2 years of experience acceptable for candidates with strong academic or internship exposure to financial operations
 
Skillsets
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 — Word and Excel
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office suite
  • Basic knowledge of lending and real estate industry practices
  • Knowledge of basic accounting processes and procedures
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions
  • Strong data entry and documentation skills
  • Ability to exercise judgment and discretion within standard policies
 
Education
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred

  • Shift Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (no rotation; overtime available as needed)
