Description

Position Title:

Project Manager - MES Preferred

Location:

Richmond, VA (Onsite)

Duration:

Rate range:

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience in program and project management within IT organizations.
  • 5 years of project management experience supporting software development projects.
  • Experience managing .NET, SQL Server, or enterprise application projects.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, testing processes, and change management practices.
  • Experience coordinating projects involving legacy system enhancements and modernization efforts.
  • Strong stakeholder management and facilitation skills.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Experience with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or Hybrid methodologies.

Required Skills:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership.
  • Experience with budget management, resource planning, and vendor coordination.
  • Strong risk, issue, and dependency management experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Manufacturing industry experience.
  • Experience with ERP, MES, WMS, supply chain, or production systems.
  • PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar project management tools.
  • Exposure to cloud transformation and application modernization initiatives.
  • Experience managing distributed and offshore teams.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and govern multiple technology projects and workstreams supporting manufacturing applications.
  • Develop and manage program roadmaps, budgets, timelines, dependencies, and resource plans.
  • Partner with business and IT leadership to define priorities and align technology initiatives with organizational objectives.
  • Oversee teams responsible for legacy system assessment, application enhancements, and modernization initiatives.
  • Establish program governance frameworks, performance metrics, and reporting processes.
  • Ensure project teams perform thorough impact analysis and regression risk assessments before implementing changes.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate program risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Provide executive-level communications, presentations, and status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Drive stakeholder alignment across business, operations, manufacturing, and IT organizations.
  • Monitor program performance and ensure delivery quality, budget adherence, and milestone achievement.
  • Facilitate steering committee meetings and executive reviews.
  • Promote continuous improvement, process optimization, and operational excellence.
