Responsibilities:
Urologic Robotics Fellowship - Instructor, Department of Urology
The Department of Urology in the Whiddon College of Medicine at the University of South Alabama has opening is seeking a highly motivated urologist to join our Department of Urology as a Robotic and Minimally Invasive Fellow, with a primary focus on advancing expertise in robotic-assisted urologic surgeries.
The fellow will work with all robotic platforms, with significant exposure to Single Port Procedures , advance robotic procedures, and use of the Histosonics robot. They will exhibit leadership and facilitate all Endourology lectures and didactics. The fellow will also be exposed to many complex open procedures including RPLND and Open Cystectomy.
In addition to advanced clinical training, this position also offers an opportunity to join faculty as Clinical Instructor. The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching, a strong background in urologic surgery, and a commitment to advancing the Department and field of urology through cutting-edge robotic technology and research.
The fellow will be academically active and publications in major journals such as the Journal of Endourology, Journal of Urology and the Gold Journal are expected.
The fellow will partake in clinical activities in the outpatient setting, including the ambulatory clinic. They will actively supervise resident education and clinical duties at all levels. There will be ample opportunity for multi-disciplinary interaction with genito-urinary medical oncology and radiation oncology, specifically through tumor boards, grand rounds and clinical trial activities.
