Pay Grade/Pay Range:  Minimum: $18.32 - Midpoint: $21.97 (Hourly N4)


Department/Organization: 504305 - Central Rec/Property


Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm; Occasional weekends required


Job Summary: The University Inventory and Surplus Associate works daily with surplus inventory, including verifying incoming items against work orders, identifying and documenting any discrepancies, and collaborating with Logistical Support to resolve those discrepancies. Conducts annual inventory, meeting with property managers and building representatives to identify and document any missing assets. Works closely with property managers to locate items or ensure appropriate action is taken for lost, stolen, or unaccounted-for assets. Prepares items for public sale, including taking pictures, writing descriptions, researching pricing of similar items sold, determining working status of item, and ensuring appropriate documentation is on file.


Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of experience; OR associate's degree or higher.


Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Final candidates must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.


Skills and Knowledge: Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to make decisions based on careful analysis and thoughtful judgment. Knowledge of online sale sites. Computer skills (spreadsheet applications, etc.). Ability to work without consistent supervision and follow up. Ability to work effectively under high levels of activity.


Preferred Qualifications: Experience with barcoding and working with inventory levels.
