Job Title: University Chapel Coordinator
Reports to: Associate Dean of Spiritual Life and Campus Chaplain
Job Purpose:
The Coordinator of University Chapel assists the Spiritual Life Pastoral team and Associate Dean of Spiritual Life with planning the details and logistics of the Faith, Learning & Experience program (FLEX), executing worship services, promoting chapel plans, coordination of spiritual formation through virtual channels, and navigating hosting for speakers in chapel. An important part of the position is supporting the ministry and mission of the University and advancing the academic excellence and spiritual vitality of our University and students. Each employee plays an important role in the development of the Christina faith in our students.
Essential Functions:
Facilitate chapel design & implementation: music, speakers, other elements
Facilitate the chapel logistics meeting, follow up with action items
Serve as 'Producer of Chapel' - inputting detailed elements for Chapel Order into Planning Center, and navigating deadlines with ITS - scheduling musicians, & speakers for sound checks, media usage,
Coordinate worship arts & music department scheduling for chapel
Serve as Chapel Coordinator for Internal Speakers
Review Chapel Order of Worship with platform party before chapel
Work closely with the Office of Intercultural Affairs to develop a dynamic, intercultural chapel program
Invite chapel speakers approved by the Chapel Discernment Team and assist with all travel, speaking and itinerary
Develop the FLEX calendar and work closely with Strategic Communication for printing and
Assist in the management and implementation of chapel streaming
Work closely with Worship Arts Faculty to schedule & coordinate chapel bands.
Oversee social media for chapel and the FLEX
Oversee the implementation and use of the iAttended app for FLEX
Manage chapel budget and give regular budget reports to the Associate Dean of Spiritual Life.
Facilitate 'chapel intern program'.
Lead promotion, recruitment, interviews & hiring of Chapel Interns
Meet with Chapel interns weekly for mentoring, support, job tasks, and spiritual formation
Planning seasonal and creative elements into chapel
Build creative team to 'ideate' creative elements, 2 - 4x/semester
Be responsible for tax documents, travel, lodging, and speaker liaison
Prepare itinerary for external speakers - including class visits and other campus' hosts
Attend all M/W/F 10:00 a.m. Hughes worship programs as well as a few special University event programs that take places in Hughes, including WHAM.
Work with Chapel Interns for setting up and tear down of chapel for special
Manage chapel emergency procedures - tornado, fire, and active shooter drills
Organize all chapel supplies

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
This position requires the ability to occasionally lift items, up to 25 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, and normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5
Travel:
Minimal travel is expected for this position.
