Position Summary: The Kramer School of Nursing occasionally has openings for part-time temporary adjunct instructors teaching undergraduate courses. Applying for a part-time adjunct teaching appointment allows faculty chairs from across the School to access candidate materials if/when a teaching need arises throughout the current or future academic year. Duties and Responsibilities:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
Evidence of current practice with a minimum of two (2) years full time equivalent practice as a Registered Nurse in a clinical setting preceding the first date of first employment as a teacher
Current, unencumbered license in the state of Oklahoma and/or a compact license

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
The work requirements for this position include teaching during daytime and some evening hours depending upon the needs of the department and its students. Most traditional classes are held in the Kramer School of Nursing building on the OCU campus. The online-only RN to BSN program is delivered remotely.
For those who are assigned to teach remotely, the university currently supports residency in the following states only: Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Missouri, New Mexico, Oregon, and Virginia.
Must be able to lift and carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds.
Must be able to bend, stoop, and reach.
Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and other business machines efficiently
Near vision sufficient to read written communications and computer display screens
Adequate hearing to communicate effectively in person and by phone
Stamina to teach clinical practicum on site with timely access by students if assigned such duties
Work is primarily indoors but requires the incumbent to be in an outdoor environment when traveling between campus buildings or off campus.
Incumbents will be exposed to frequent noise caused by telephones and office machines.
Access to a personal vehicle and ability to drive in a variety of locations (urban/rural) and travel up to four (4)-to-five (5) hours for in-person practicum visits
Some assignments that take place in clinical facilities may involve potential exposure to factors typically present in health care institutions.
Interested adjuncts must apply fully and online to be considered.
Candidates who are selected and accept teaching assignments must provide their current CV and transcripts upon hire. All university employees must complete a criminal background check and mandatory training. Once hired, adjunct faculty are typically onboarded at least two weeks before the beginning of the semester to which they are assigned. Adjuncts who do not complete all steps in the hiring and onboarding process in a timely manner may experience a delay in pay.
