Job Summary

Responsible for performing various administrative secretarial and clerical duties. Understands and follows the organizations policies, procedures, and standards. Is an independent worker meeting the day-to-day needs of the director and the department. Participates in the departments and organizations performance improvement activities.

Duties

• Greets visitors, directs visitors appropriately, maintains the communication flow of the office. • Demonstrates the ability to be flexible and organized during stressful situations. • Answers the telephone in a professional manner, screens calls, takes messages, directs calls appropriately. • Sorts logs and distributes all incoming mail, identifies mail that needs immediate attention. • Maintains an organized, efficient filing system. Debrides files according to established department and hospital guidelines. • Records, prepares, and distributes meeting minutes, orders supplies and printing weekly. Assists in cost containment through appropriate ordering and conserving of supplies and equipment. • Interacts professionally with all visitors within the department, office, and with other departments. • Transcribes from dictated or written material, minutes, memoranda, policies, procedures, and reports. • Accepts other duties as assigned.

Regulatory Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent. Previous knowledge of medical terminology required. Great role for a care technician looking to step away from direct patient care. Must be able to use office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel. Must be an organized, multi-tasker with strong written and verbal skills.

Location: Sharon Hospital Work Type: FT - 40hr Standard Hours: 8 hr shifts Work Schedule: Day 8 Work Shift: 7am - 3pm Department: Psych Salary Range: $17- $25hr based on years of creditable experience
