The Unit Secretary on the 4N Senior Care Unit reports to the Nurse Manager of the ____. Under general supervision, the Unit Secretary is accountable for performance of clerical work related to the nurses station. This position serves in the receptionist role at the nursing station, handling incoming and outgoing communications, processing physicians orders, and maintaining charts, records, supplies, and equipment. The Unit Secretary accurately performs computer-related tasks.

Job Description
A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required. Basic keyboarding skills are required, and medical terminology is preferred. Applicant must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Basic Life Support BLS is required within 2 weeks of hire. Thereafter, must maintain a Current Basic Life Support BLS certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers or an American Red Cross (ARC) CPRAED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
