The Unit Director is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and daily operations of the Union Street Clubhouse. This role ensures the facility operates safely, efficiently, and in alignment with organizational mission, values, and strategic priorities.
The Unit Director provides direct oversight of all clubhouse functions, including program delivery, staff supervision, facility operations, member engagement, and community partnerships. This individual serves as the primary on-site leader and is accountable for creating a high-quality, welcoming environment for youth, families, staff, and partners. This is a full-time, year-round leadership position requiring flexibility to support programming during the school year, summer months, and school breaks, including extended or non-traditional hours as needed.
What You'll Do:
- Provide overall leadership and operational management of the Union Street Clubhouse.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and structured environment that supports positive youth development.
- Serve as the primary on-site leader and point of contact for staff, families, and community stakeholders.
- Oversee daily operations including facility management, scheduling, and program coordination.
- Foster a welcoming, inclusive culture that reflects organizational values.
- Ensure high-quality implementation of all youth development programs and services.
- Supervise program leaders and department heads, ensuring alignment with organizational standards.
- Monitor program outcomes and support continuous improvement efforts.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align programming with strategic goals.
- Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and evaluate staff in collaboration with leadership and HR.
- Provide ongoing coaching, supervision, and professional development opportunities.
- Build a positive, accountable, and team-oriented work culture.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels and coverage during all hours of operation.
- Maintain accurate records including attendance, staffing, incidents, and reports.
- Oversee safety protocols and emergency preparedness procedures.
- Assist with budget oversight, purchasing, and expense management. Support audits, inspections, and internal reviews as required.
What You'll Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, human services, education, or a related field required; equivalent combinations of relevant direct care and leadership experience will be considered.
- Minimum age of 20 years old.
- Ability to pass background screening and required clearances.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of leadership experience in youth development, education, or community-based programming.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage operations, and oversee multiple functions.
- Maintain personal auto insurance policy with a minimum of liability insurance.
- Maintain a CDL-B License with passenger endorsement.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with youth, families, staff, and community stakeholders.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-focused in high-pressure situations. Regular and reliable attendance required.
