Overview:

Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator for 3 South- Acute Cardiac/Stroke Unit. This is a Full Time, Night shift position in Williamsburg, VA.

Hours: 645PM to 715AM during week days. No Weekend Schedule!

The Acute Cardiac/Stroke Unit, 3 South, at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center provides care for patients with cardiac conditions including heart failure, cardiac rhythm disturbances, newly implanted permanent pacemakers and defibrillators, post- coronary interventions, post-ablation, myocardial infarctions. 3 South also cares for pre/post catheterization, and acute stroke. This 24-bed unit sees a ratio of 1:6 with assistance of Patient Care Techs with a ratio of 1:8 on average. The unit cares for patients with acuity higher than a typical medical-surgical unit. 3 South Acute Cardiac is also preparing for a transition to a Cardiac PCU step-down with ratio of 1:4 before year's end, making it an exciting opportunity for nurses seeking growth in a dynamic, high-acuity setting. The Registered Nurse Unit Coordinator demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.

Education
  • Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN (required) Or
  • MSN (Preferred)


Certification/Licensure
  • Registered nursing License (Required)
  • BLS required within 90 days of hire
  • Professional Specialty Nursing Certification preferred.
  • Critical Care/IMCU ACLS within 1 year of hire
  • NIH within 1 year of hire


Experience
  • 18 Months of acute care RN experience(required)
  • Experience in Telemetry, acute stroke, or cardiac preferred
  • Previous charge experience preferred
  • Acute Care nursing background preferred
