Summary:

To assist the Resident Care Coordinator and the Team Leader in the organization of the unit and to provide clerical assistance in the day-to-day recording of clinical and administrative information, in accordance with current Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations or as may be directed by the Director of Nursing or designee.

Responsibilities:

EDUCATION

  • High School Graduate
  • Medical Terminology course, desired
  • Unit Clerk or Secretarial course is desirable

EXPERIENCE
  • At least six (6) months experience in a Long Term Care facility required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
  • Must be able to communicate with the health care personnel, including medical and ancillary staff, residents, families and visitors.
  • Must be able to speak and understand English.
  • Communication skills which may be inclusive of approach, tone of voice, speed of communication, respectfulness and non verbal communication.

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Intermittent sitting, standing, walking and mental stress. Works in a confined area most of the day.

ENVIRONMENT
  • Normal heat, light space, and safe working environment; typical of most office jobs.
  • Occasional exposure to one or more mildly unpleasant physical conditions.
